Hi Cara! Welcome to the blog! YAY!

Cara: Summer, because that is when all the beautiful flowers and the gardens grow. Annnnd the Sun.

Carrie: If it wasn’t so dang hot in the summer I would like it more 😛

Cara: I’m a tea gal. I am super coffee sensitive. I might get a loooooot done but my heart will miss beats and race in turn. Definitely not my super power. Earl Grey is my favorite. We’ve had a running date for decades now.

Carrie: haha definitely sounds like you should stay exclusive with tea

Cara: Neither. Britbox for the win! I love a good mystery. My kids call them mom’s dead body shows.

Carrie: I haven’t done Britbox but I love the mysteries on Hallmark’s Movies & Mysteries channel.

Cara: Both, I live equal distance from Mt. Hood and the Oregon Coast. Yeah for more beautiful things.

Carrie: i’m so jealous!

Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?

Cara: My super power would be… (To pick only one?) To slow time or to stop accidents before they happen…stop accidents it is.

Carrie: great choice 🙂

Q: Tell me some good books you’ve read lately.

Cara: I’ll hold to one fiction and one non-fiction. Fiction-Joanna Davidson Politano’s A Rumored Fortune. It has adventure, a little mystery, and romance. Very satisfying. And Non-Fiction- How to Pray-A Simple Guide for Normal People by Pete Grieg. I read a lot of books on prayer and this one is my current favorite.

Carrie: ooo I love Joanna’s books & I’ll definitely have to check out the book on prayer

Q: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever Googled while researching a book?

Cara: This question made me smile. There are so many rabbit holes to fall down. Most current was learning the difference between a shiv and a shank. Slightly interchangeable stabbing words. A shiv you cut with like a knife, and a shank you stab with as in tapering from large to small. So you can shank with a shiv, but you can’t always shiv with a shank. Haha, I love my job. Future book…watch out for the chicken bone.

Carrie: hahaha! Well, now we know 🙂

Q: What surprised you about the story or your characters as you wrote The Rock

Cara: This is a weird answer, but crying was what surprised me most. Every once in a while, when the magic is flowing I’ll make myself tear up, but it isn’t always sad tears. I have reunion tears, rooting-for-the-underdog tears, romance-high tears, and I’m-proud-of-you tears. Plus many more. After this last book, I’ve been making a study about what moves me. Innnnnteresting to understand.

Carrie: ooo i bet! (Also, I just love your tender heart ♥ )

Q: What do you most want readers to take away from The Rock?

Cara: I want them to be encouraged in a true escape from real life way. And I want them to know that not only does Jesus love them, but He wants to interact with them, talk with them, and help them live a rewarding life here on earth…and then heaven. Smile.

Carrie: Amen 🙂
