Well, June just flew by for me – anyone else? The end of the month means it’s time for another Three Great Things post, the new blog series I started in January. June was a little easier on the emotions than May, but I still know so many people who are struggling with tough, tough stuff. Still, there ARE great things still going on out there, if we just stop to appreciate them. So that’s what I want to do this month & every month – even just to keep my own focus on the good things God’s allowed me to experience. So here’s three great things I read, watched, listened to, and learned in June 2021!
three great things i read
three great things i watched
This song will show back up again in a minute but I loved watching Walker Hayes & his oldest daughter dance together to his hit song, Fancy Like! No matter how many times I’ve watched it, it makes me smile 🙂
Hey! Uncle Si (my fave Robertson) has a podcast! In this episode, he’s talking about recovering from Covid-19, and even though he’s not 100% up to par at that point, he still had me in stitches as per usual lol.
And… of course… a sermon from my church 🙂 This one is FULL of so. much. TRUTH. I need to listen to it like once a month to let it sit fresh in my heart again.
three great things i listened to
three great things i learned
-before Rosa Parks, there was Claudette Colvin
-if you’re ever stranded on an island, avoid the brown coconuts
–Juneteenth became a federal holiday

In June I read A Storied Trail by Ann Gabhart, Under the Magnolias by T. I. Lowe, and The Coffee Corner by Amy Clipston, and I’m currently reading Chasing Shadows by Lynn Austin and listening to Hooked on You by Kathleen Fuller. I’ve learned that I can care for a special needs little boy and be a mentor to his mother and his older sister. I’ve been through some of these issues with our adopted daughter and can provide assistance to this sweet immigrant family.
immigrants have my heart! Thank you for sharing Jesus’ love with them!!
I have read The Islanders by Mary Alice Monroe and Angela May, Death Comes in Threes by Kimberley O’Malley and The Clover Girls by Viola Shipman.
ooo i want to read The Clover Girls too!
These are also fun each month. It’s seeing what you will choose to highlight.
aww thanks, Delores! I’m glad you enjoy them 🙂
Three great books:
Chasing Shadows by Lynn Austin
The Chase by Lisa Harris

Happy 4th!
excellent reading choices 🙂
As far as “like”, does that mean like this post by clicking on the blue button that says “like”? I did that, but I wanted to make sure that is what you are referring to.
As far as three great things I read in June (it’s hard to narrow down!):
1. Truly, Madly, Deeply by Karen Kingsbury (I can’t get enough from her!)
2. Retying the Knot by Liwen Y. Ho (she writes hilarious CF Rom-Com. You would probably love her books)💖
3. Manor for Sale, Baron Included by Esther Hatch (clean Regency that’s full of witty banter)
The only new thing I listened to is the latest song by CeCe Winans called “Believe For It”….oh my goodness…SO SO powerful!! Check it out if you haven’t already Carrie. It really speaks to me every time I hear it on the radio.
I have Jaime’s new book on hold and can’t wait to get my hands on it. I have thoroughly enjoyed all her books!
Happy 4th of July to you!!
I DO love Liwen’s books! (And yes, you ‘liked’ it correctly) I will check out that song – thanks for the recommendation!
I read Chasing Shadows by Lynn Austin, More Than We Remember by Christina Suzann Nelson, In A Far Off Land by Stephanie Landsem.
great authors & books!
The three great books I’ve read – The Heart’s Charge by Karen Witemeyer, A Lady in Attendance by Rachel Fordham and A Proper Scoundrel by Esther Hatch.
excellent choices!
I enjoy seeing what you’ve been reading, listening to, and learning!
aww thanks 🙂
I love the cover for Suddenly Forever, I’m adding that to my tbr!
I listened to a sermon from an elder preacher that passed away years ago. It was wonderful just hearing his voice again. I have been reading several books. I finished the audiobook of Stephenia McGee titled A Colonial Courtship and read No Man’s Daughter by Kathleen Maher. Now I’m read Connilyn Cossette’s new one, Between the Wild Branches.
I’m reviewing A Colonial Courtship tomorrow! 🙂
These posts are always fun as you share such interesting things!
Three great reads in June: On the Cliff of Foxglove Manor by Jaime Jo Wright, The Mistletoe Countess by Pepper Basham and I am just finishing up on Under the Magnolias by T.I. Lowe. I’m not much of a “watcher” but I did see Phil Robertson at an event last weekend. I’m fixing to learn this afternoon if my homemade cinnamon rolls that I froze before the second rising will rise well and taste good.
Three great June books:
1) Between the Wild Branches by Connilyn Cossette
2) The Weight of Memory by Shawn Smucker
3) Then Came You by Rachel D Russell
These are my favorite posts!
How about three places I visited in June – Astoria Column and Fort Clatsop in Astoria, OR, and Fort Stevens in Warrenton, OR.
My 3 great books I read are Shelter In The Storm by Laurel Blount, Lethal Cover-Up by Darlene L. Turner, and Rising Danger by Jerusha Agen Thank you for sharing your post!
I re-watched some of the Poirot films. Always great! I read The Nature of a Lady by Roseanna M. White and re-read Six Feet Under by Dorothy Simpson.
I read several good books in June… The Nature of a Lady by Roseanna White, Sea Glass Castle by T. I. Lowe, and a Dazzle of Diamonds by Liz Johnson ( I enjoyed this one so much I went and preordered her next book after I finished it)
I finished A Long Time Comin’ by Robin W Pearson, read To Whisper Her Name by Tamera Alexander and an ARC of Butterfly Cottage by Carrie Fancett Pagels. Why I have chosen books with over 400 pages these last months!?! It’s killing me but they are great books! Now I am reading All Things New by Lynn Austin…415 pages…but so good too!! No wonder I can’t do more than 3 great reads! 😂
hahaha!!
