THE CHASE
SERIES:
US Marshals #2

GENRE: Inspirational Romantic Suspense
PUBLISHER: Revell
RELEASE DATE: July 6, 2021
PAGES: 317

US Marshal Madison James may not be sure who shot her three months ago, but she does know one thing–it’s time to get back out into the field. When her partner, Jonas Quinn, receives a message that a federal warrant just came in on a man connected to a string of bank robberies, Madison jumps at the chance to get back to work. What she and Jonas find is a bank robbery in progress that’s gone wrong–and things are about to get worse.

For these bank robbers, it’s never been just about the money. It’s about taking risks and adrenaline rushes, and getting caught is not part of the game. When the suspects escape, Madison and Jonas must hunt them down and bring them to justice before someone else–someone close to them–gets hurt . . . or worse.

From Seattle to the San Juan Islands, bestselling author Lisa Harris takes you on a nonstop chase where feelings are complicated and failure isn’t an option.

Hi Lisa! Welcome back to the blog!

Lisa: Honestly, both. But I’ll go with dogs for two reasons. One, I hate litter boxes, and two, we have a beautiful German Shepherd who I’m completely attached to.

Carrie: awww! Yeah, I might grow to like cats if they didn’t come with litter boxes haha

Lisa: I confess I am a happily-ever-after Hallmark movie fan!

Carrie: yay! Me too, though I lean toward the mysteries channel more often 🙂

Lisa: I’d rather read a book, but I love listening to music—mainly praise, or instrumental when I’m working—so I’ll go with music.

Carrie: I can’t listen to books – my mind wanders too much – but I do love having music on while I blog/work.

Lisa: I grew up near both, but I love the rocky seashore, and there’s something so peaceful and calming about listening to the waves.

Carrie: Yes! Me too – if I have to have a seashore, please let it be a rocky one because it’s sorta like having mountains too lol

Q: Which books are “on your nightstand”?

Lisa: I typically read most fiction on my ereader, and non-fiction in paperback. So physical books on my nightstand are The Adversary by Mark I. Bubeck, Scary God by Mattie Montgomery, Anxious for Nothing by Max Lucado, and A Castaway in Cornwell by Julie Klassen.

Carrie: Those all sound good!

Q: Writing spaces are as diverse as authors and books. Where is your favorite space to write?

Lisa: Anywhere quiet, peaceful, and neat. If I’m working in my room, I have to have the bed made and things cleaned up. 🙂 I have a comfy chair in my room where I spend most of my time writing. I also love a spot with a great view.

Carrie: A decluttered space helps declutter the mind for sure 🙂

Q: Were there any songs that inspired you as you wrote The Chase?

Lisa: I can’t listen to music with words while I’m writing, but I love listening to epic movie soundtracks that are moving and inspiring. A couple of my favorite are Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones.

Carrie: ooo LOTR is an awesome soundtrack!

Q: What is one of your favorite quotes from The Chase & why do you love it?

Lisa: “I already knew what God wanted. It was more of a question of if I was willing to surrender and trust him.”

I often find my characters struggling through the same spiritual issues as I am. (Coincidence? I think not) Madison, my heroine in this story, is struggling with surrendering and trusting God, but sometimes trust and faith are so hard to find, especially when the world and its struggles and hurts are pressing in. That is why this is such a huge reminder for me!

Carrie: I can definitely relate to that too!

Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.

Lisa: Thank you so much for having me and giving me a chance to share! The Chase is book two in my series, and I just turned in book three, The Catch. This series has been so much fun to write, and I’m excited for these books to hit the shelves for my readers!
