Welcome to the Blog Tour for Lavender Tears by Sondra Cunningham, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours! I’m honored to chat with Sondra today about her book!
LAVENDER TEARS
Author: Sondra Cunningham
Release Date: March 12, 2021
Genre: Christian Historical Biblical Women’s Fiction
The strength to rise again and again is not for the faint of heart.
Like each new sunrise, Mary of Bethany’s journey required an inner strength and faith that would permeate through the darkness of life’s unexpected tragedies.
When her hopes and dreams came crashing down around her, Mary’s life began to spin, seemingly, out of control. What she couldn’t see, was that God, the faithful potter, was shaping her life into a valuable vessel. One mended and filled with the pure gold of the Father’s love and destined for a unique purpose.
Held together by the sweet and calming scent of lavender and the memories of her mother’s garden, Mary journeys on, learning how to defeat the night and radiate like the noon day sun.

Hi Sondra! Welcome to the blog!
Sondra: Oranges-Love that refreshing citrus!

Sondra: Winter-My husband I are in-love with the snow!
Carrie: us too!

Carrie: i’m not a beach person but i do love the ocean
Sondra: Print! I need to have paper in my hands and a book to collect on the shelf!
Carrie: I definitely have to have the paper copy on the shelf but I read mostly on ebook now for convenience đ
Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?
Sondra: I always wanted to have super speed! I could get everything done quicklyâwith quality, and still have time to relax and enjoy my introverted haven of peace and quiet!
Carrie: oh wouldn’t that be lovely!
Q: When you walk into a bookstore, where do you head first?
Sondra: If Iâm not shopping for a new novel, Iâm heading to the stationary section! #obsessed
Carrie: yay! all the pretty papers!
Q: If I sneaked a peek in your purse right now (which I would never do, I promise!), what would it tell me about you?
Sondra: I never leave without my basic makeup necessities; mascara, eyeliner, primer, and something for the lips!
Carrie: i have no patience for makeup lol – lipstick is about all i ever do
Q: Were there any songs that inspired you as you wrote Lavender Tears?Â
Sondra: YES! I created an entire playlist on ITunes! For example; Come out of Hiding by Steffany Gretzinger, Highlands by Hillsong United, Peace by We the Kingdom, Wild Flower by The Booth Brothers, Returning by Vineyard, Drawn to You by Audrey Assad.
Carrie: great song choices đ
Q: What do you most want readers to take away from Lavender Tears?
Sondra: Lavender Tears is the book you pick up when youâre looking to connect with another womanâs journey to find herself. We all go through good times and bad, heart ache, suffering and healing. As you read this story, you become a confidante along side Mary of Bethany. What she goes through, you go through. I believe all of us can find ourselves somewhere within these poetic pages. Maybe at one moment you are Deborah, and another Mary⊠Regardless of your journey, you will make it to the feet of JesusâŠone step at a time.
I believe the anointing on this book is more than just for Christian entertainment. I believe itâs meant to stir the spirit of âovercomingâ in each reader and to help us feel less alone. We can always get back up and keep moving forwardâJesus is what our hearts are searching for, even when we donât know it. We too, can take all of our issues and lay them at the feet of Jesus in total trust and abandonment and experience our greatest unconditional love, forgiveness, freedom and grace.
Carrie: yes! i love that â„
Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! đ Before we say goodbye for today, tell us whatâs coming up next for you.
Sondra:Â My husband and I are almost finished with Lavender Tears companion devotional! It will be a guide through some spiritual truths I sewed within each chapter. It will help others find a scriptural path to their own freedom and identity!
And, yes, Lavender Tears will have a sequel! Book two is underway and I am hoping for a 2021 release! Maryâs journey isnât over yet and let me tell youâher rising story is going to glow like a radiant sunrise!
