Character Sketch:

Sarah

Sarah, the founder of the club has short blonde wavy hair, blue sparkling eyes and a countless number of freckles.  She is married to Tommy and they have four children.

Sarah grew up in northern New Jersey and remained in the area after she and Tommy married. Sarah owned a creative design business and believes that everyone’s home should tell a story of the people who live there.  Her philosophy is the backbone of her business and she loves each new project.  Although lately, Sarah has become disenchanted with many of the clients she works for.  It seems that instead of taking the time to communicate to her what their story looks like they instruct her to just copy “trendy designs” or do whatever she wants. Their lack of interest leaves Sarah questioning how much longer she wants to continue with her business.

Balancing her creative design company while raising four kids has definitely taken a toll on the busy mom.  And Sarah begins to wonder if there’s more to life than just Meatless Monday and Taco Tuesday.

Jackie

Jackie is a petite lady with shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes framed by round glasses.  Once an Olympic hopeful, she now proudly wears the badge of Motherhood.  Jackie has spent her adult life caring for her husband and four kids.  But now that her children have all left the nest, Jackie searches for a new purpose. In the end, no one is more surprised than her as to what lies ahead.

Maggie

Settling has become Maggie’s middle name.  Distracted with all the yesterdays of her youth, Maggie is so busy looking in the rearview mirror that she loses sight of what’s most important… living in the present.

While retaining her beautiful, long scarlet hair and captivating green eyes Maggie’s slim physique of her youth is now just another one of her memories.

Tricia

Tricia the youngest member of the club, is an operating room nurse at Anne Arundel Community Hospital.  She has long blonde hair, navy bluish colored eyes, white pasty skin and severe features that would soften greatly if she would only smile.  Yet, Tricia hasn’t had much to smile about lately.  She hates her job and the stress is starting to carry over into personal life with her husband Paul.  Tricia has a very sarcastic personality and doesn’t hold back from expressing herself.  But all of that is just a mask hiding the real problem…FEAR.

Brittany

Brittany has lost touch with reality.  The mother of three would rather spend her time giving tours of her mansion than be a wife to her husband, a mother to her three kids or speak to anyone below her perceived class level.  Brittany is a very attractive woman with long jet black hair, piercing blue eyes and little to no apparent signs of aging.

Tabatha

Tabatha has a tall, slender model like physique with brown eyes and auburn hair.  She also has a beauty mark on the left side of her face below her upper lip.

A very soft spoken, strong woman with a caring nature describes Tabatha to a T.  She and her husband Eric have been married for many years.  After the loss of their only child they became the legal guardians to their 6-month old twin grandsons.  Tabatha’s eyes reflect pain yet her enduring, positive, move forward attitude is the glue that holds everything and everyone together.

Reshma

Reshma was born in Bombay but left for America at an early age. She is the proud mother of baby Lilly and the wife to Anil Patel.  Breaking family culture, Reshma strives to fit into the American lifestyle at the cost of losing sight of who she is and where she came from.  Reshma reflects a wheatish complexion with brown eyes and black wavy hair.  A single diamond stud pierces the left nostril of her nose.

Susan M. Meyers

Susan Meyers is an optimist who believes the world would be better served if everyone were more aligned with their greater purpose. The challenge as she sees it is not only to serve one’s purpose but also to adapt as it changes from time to time.

While Susan has worn many hats throughout her life, serving as CEO of her children’s business, 3 Sisters and a Brother, LLC is the role of which she is most proud. It began in the family’s basement when they were just 12, 12, 10, and 7 and soon expanded into two storefronts; within less than eight years, it became a well-known brand in the local community.

As time passed and each of the children began to take flight, Susan and her family made the decision to close the business. With each of her four children off pursuing their own individualized dreams and careers, Susan had to deal with a new title; unemployed CEO; as well as the closed doors that it represented for her more personally.

Finding herself questioning her own purpose and determined to regain it, Susan invested her time looking for answers. It soon became clear that none of the information she found talked to her concerns or even spoke the same language.

Eventually, Susan was reminded of what she already knew and in the hope of helping others facing similar challenges, was moved to write The Decorating Club.

Today, Susan makes her home with her husband and youngest daughter in Fairfield, CT. For more information, visit www.susanmmeyersauthor.com.
