Luke is fascinated by the vibrant Marianne and her daring work as a government photographer, leading them into a forbidden romance. “This is a well-written, captivating romance that is rich with history. . . . The characters are all superbly developed and interesting, and the reader will want to know more about this time period and this series. Highly recommended.”Historical Novels Review

I asked the author…

What do you most want your readers to take away from The Prince of SPies?

After reading The Prince of Spies, I hope readers feel like they’ve learned something about history while enjoying a complex and thrilling love story. This novel has a Romeo & Juliet-type vibe, and is probably the most romantic of any novel I’ve written.

In terms of faith, the novel addresses the joys and heartaches of family life while encouraging forgiveness, faithfulness, and mercy. The takeaway message is about how to savor the blessings we have been given, while learning to stride through the darker times with fortitude and grace.

Elizabeth Camden (www.elizabethcamden.com) is best known for her historical novels set in Gilded Age America, featuring clever heroines and richly layered storylines. Before she was a writer, she was an academic librarian at some of the largest and smallest libraries in America, but her favorite is the continually growing library in her own home. Her novels have won the RITA and Christy Award and have appeared on the CBA bestsellers list. She lives in Orlando, Florida, with her husband, who graciously tolerates her intimidating stockpile of books.
