WORTHY OF REDEMPTION
Series: White Lake Romance #1
Author: Krystina Renae Rankin
Publisher: Quirky Bullpen Press
Release Date: October 5, 2021
Genre: Christian Contemporary Romance
Ashlynn Wilson left the small town of White Lake, Texas after tragedy struck on graduation night, taking the life of her best friend Victoria. Now, ten years later, she returns to help her parents after her father is diagnosed with cancer. When she arrives she finds herself having to face more than just memories after she discovers that the doctor treating her father is Victoria’s former boyfriend Heath Lancaster, the man Ashlynn holds responsible for her death. Even more surprising is that she is beginning to see him as a compassionate man of faith caring for her ill father; not the teenage boy who made poor decisions.
Heath Lancaster has never really forgiven himself for his girlfriend’s death so he isn’t surprised that his former classmate hasn’t either. Now that Ashlynn is back in town, he hopes their interactions can be minimal. However, when a situation arises that she is uniquely qualified for, he realizes they are going to be spending far more time together than either one of them had planned. What’s more, he realizes he enjoys her company. As old hurts turn into friendship, and maybe even love, can Heath prove to them both that he’s a man worthy of redemption?

Hi Krystina! Welcome to the blog!
Krystina: Winter. I love cold weather. And snow, though we mostly get ice here in Oklahoma.
Carrie: yay! I’m always happy to meet another fan of winter. We are few and far between haha
Krystina: Dogs. They are just so loyal and lovable.
Carrie: right?!?
Krystina: Netflix. I love TV and Netflix has both new things I want to try and old series I want to revisit.
Carrie: that’s a good point!
Krystina: Mountains. I think it goes back to the cold weather but also mountains are just so peaceful to me.
Carrie: i agree – i think there’s definitely a connection there between loving mountains & winter.
Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?
Krystina: Flying. I would love to be able to get anywhere quickly. Plus I love flying in airplanes, I can only imagine how cool it would be to fly myself!
Carrie: I hate flying in airplanes but I’d still like to have that superpower so I don’t have to fly in airplanes lol
Q: When you walk into a bookstore, where do you head first?
Krystina: The kids and young adult section. I love revisiting the books that made me fall in love with both reading and writing. It’s a fun trip down memory lane and I also love finding books I think my nieces will love, and something new for myself too!
Carrie: ooo I’m a book aunt too 🙂
Q: Writing spaces are as diverse as authors and books. Where is your favorite space to write?
Krystina: My favorite space is the sunroom in my house. It has a daybed in there and I love to sit with my legs out in front of me, my laptop on my lap, and write for hours while looking out the windows. Ironically, my favorite time to write in the sunroom is when it’s raining.
Carrie: oh that sounds lovely!
Q: What surprised you about your story or your characters as you wrote Worthy of Redemption?
Krystina: I had a very minor character who ended up getting a pretty important scene in the book. I had planned for this scene to happen “off page” but this character decided she needed to make an appearance, and it ended up being one of my favorite scenes and character interaction. That character is probably going to end up with her book someday now too!
Carrie: i love it when supporting characters sorta take over – it’s always fun to read 🙂
Q: What do you most want readers to take away from Worthy of Redemption?
Krystina: One thing I hope readers take away from this book is that God can redeem any situation. There is a lot of history and a lot of hurt between these two characters, but God redeems the situation. He does this in real life too, and like Heath and Ashlynn, He oftentimes does it in ways we never could have expected.
Carrie: amen ♥
Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.
Krystina: I’m currently working on both the prequel and book two in the White Lake Romance series. Both will feature characters from Worthy of Redemption. The prequel features Whitney and Kevin, the diner owners in White Lake. It should be available in early 2022, exclusively to my newsletter subscribers. Book two is Isabelle and Dustin’s story. Dustin is the pastor in town and Isabelle is Ashlynn’s best friend and roommate of over ten years. I’ve having so much fun writing this one, because you also get to really see the deep friendship Ashlynn and Isabelle have. It should be available in late 2022 or early 2023.
