Special Christmas Collections
by Cheryl Harper, author of Her Holiday Reunion
Hello, everyone! I’m Cheryl Harper, and I love decorating for Christmas. Now that I’ve finished a book deadline (and made it…barely), it’s number one on my list of priorities. Opening up my box of ornaments means so many memories. They’ve been collected over years (and years and years but let’s not examine that too closely), so when I decorate my tree or hang stockings, I think of sweet times and people. Do you have collections like this?
My aunt started my ornament collection for me when I was little by giving me an ornament as a souvenir from places she visited. I’ve continued that and pick up a new decoration for my tree on every trip. Then, when I hang them, I can remember that place. I love to travel, so that’s a nice bonus at Christmastime.
The heroine of Her Holiday Reunion, Mira, has a collection of snow globes. Her father was in the air force, and he started collections for all of his daughters to commemorate their homes away from home. Mira is also a military veteran, so her bookcase collection contains her own additions, like the souvenir of a London trip she took with her husband. Ex-husband? Time (and Christmas and Key West) will tell.
Please tell me about Christmas decorations that have special memories for you.
Cheryl Harper is offering an ebook copy of Her Holiday Reunion plus a $10 Amazon gift card to one of my readers! (Void where prohibited by law or logistics.) This giveaway is subject to Reading Is My SuperPower’s giveaway policies which can be found here. Enter via the Rafflecopter form below.
What about you? What makes you want to read Her Holiday Reunion by Cheryl Harper? What are some Christmas decorations that have special memories for you?
I have decorations that the children made decades ago. I treasure them. – The children too.
I loved the one trip that we made to Key West and would love to read a story set there.
Second chances.
Sounds like a good story.
I used to have a lot of special decorations, but have lost them all.. Christmas is everything to me, even so.
Her holiday Reunion sounds captivating and wonderful.
They are quite old and delicate but my mothers’ bird ornaments are so unique and make me think of her. She loved Christmas and as a kid I never really understood why ornaments would be of birds but they are quite lovely.
Any ornaments my mama made as she passed in May.
I like the cover. It gives the reader a glimpse of the setting and time.
I love Christmas stories
nice cover
My grandma had a snow globe and it had a moving train in it that we all loved I ordered the same one off eBay for my mom and the guy sent me it when it was broken I was so disappointed this will be our second Christmas without my grandma.
This sounds and looks like a great book.
I want to read this book to help me enjoy the Holiday spirit a bit longer this Christmas season. I have a Christmas ornament of a little “Cat angel”: Our Ginger passed away two years ago and I managed to find a lovely tiny reminder of her- a Gold and white cat with angel wings.
I love the cover. It is such a relaxing view. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you.
All of the ornaments on our tree have special memories. Also a light up plastic snowman that my parents had when I was little, I have it now.
I have an angel ornament that has been my own special one since I was little. My sisters and I each have a different one.
I love Christmas books, and this one looks like a winner!
Sounds like a sweet holiday romance. Thanks for sharing!
Good book for holiday reading.
Thanks for the contest.
I like the cover and synopsis, they make me want to read this story
