She’s caught in a snowstorm…
with a target on her back.
When armed men burst into her patient’s house looking for her, Amish midwife Hope Christner barely escapes with her pregnant friend. Now running through a snowy forest with enemies in pursuit and a blizzard raging, Hope has no choice but to turn to the closest neighbor, her ex-fiancé, Hunter Shetler. But facing the heartbreak of their past is just as frightening as the attackers on her trail…
ALSO AVAILABLE
Snowbound Amish Survival isn’t your normal Amish story. It features Amish midwife Hope Christner, and the man she once loved, Hunter Shetler. Hope and Hunter are thrown into a dangerous situation where their survival must force them to put aside hurt feelings and work together to not only survive dangerous men bent on kidnapping Hope, but also the worst snowstorm of the season that is barreling down on them.
I love taking two former lovers and putting them together when they are on the run, sometimes on foot, or in a buggy, and under the worst possible weather conditions. You have the tension of unsettled emotions as well as the fear of the bad guys coming after them. Not to mention a snowstorm!
Readers will get glimpses of what happened between Hope and Hunter throughout the story. Sprinkled in are sweet moments where they remember why they fell in love with each other in the first place.
An extra layer of drama in Snowbound Amish Survival is an old grudge that existed between Hope and Hunter’s fathers, which really is the reason why they couldn’t make their relationship work. Add in a pregnant woman who is about to give birth, and a new mom in danger, and Snowbound Amish Survival has plenty of intrigue.
The story starts off with Hope going over to check on her expectant friend only to have armed men barge in and demand to know where the midwife is hiding.
Hope has no idea why these men are after her, but she believes her life and her friend’s life are in danger. They rush from the house and straight into the teeth of a deadly snowstorm. There is only one house nearby where they can run to for help and that is the home of the man who broke Hope’s heart. Hunter Shetler.
To say Hunter is surprised to see Hope standing on his doorstep after so many years is an understatement. But there is little time to weigh what she has to say before armed men track them to his home.
One of my favorite scenes in the book happens at the end where Hope and Hunter and others are captured in a house that is set on fire. They are tied up and must somehow find a way to free themselves before the house burns down around them.
Snowbound Amish Survival is a fast-paced Amish suspense that will keep readers on their toes until the very end.
