Today, I’m featuring the first line of Enchanting the Heiress by Kristi Ann Hunter. I am woefully behind on my KAH reading, and I regret that because I love her books so much!

and the first line of chapter one is…

Jonas hadn’t participated in anything resembling school for many years, but he was certain that his sister’s definition of the word simple hadn’t come from the same dictionary the rest of the English-speaking world consulted.

Miss Harriet Hancock enjoys playing the role of eccentric heiress, using her wealth and influence to cleverly and anonymously better the lives of those in Newmarket.
