New Releases I’m Excited About: Mid 2022 Amish Fiction

Posted May 8, 2022 by meezcarrie in Amish, Christian, contemporary, Mid 2022 New Releases, mystery/suspense, romance / 7 Comments

We’re continuing our look at upcoming fiction I want to read, and we’ve arrived at Amish fiction – a post where I group contemporary, historical, and mystery/suspense reads that take place in Amish settings, with Amish characters. Since I’m pretty selective in this genre, the Mid 2022 Amish New Releases (May-August) list won’t be quite as out of control as the previous posts have been haha!

Here is the schedule of posts for the week so you can zero in on your fave genre!

Wednesday: Contemporary Fiction (non-Amish & non-suspense)
Thursday: Historical Fiction (non-Amish & non-suspense)
Saturday: Mystery/Suspense (non-Amish)
TODAY: Amish Fiction
Monday: Speculative/Youth
Tuesday: Non-Fiction

In my continued quest to streamline these posts I’m only selecting the few that most caught my eye to spotlight here. I’ll also include links to ALL the May-August 2022 releases, each in their own list by month, not just the ones I’m featuring here on the blog. You can also keep up with 2022’s new books as I learn about them by bookmarking the ‘2022 Releases‘ page on my blog menu & checking it periodically!

Susan, is your list ready? 😉

LOVE IN PLAIN SIGHT
(An Amish Mail-Order Bride #3)
Kathleen Fuller
Zondervan / May 3, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

Purple on the cover? Check. Written by Kathleen Fuller? Check. Mail-order brides? Check.

POCKETS OF PEACE
(The Pocket Quilt #3)
Laurie Stroup Smith
Vinspire / May 24, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

I have loved both of the previous books in this series, so I’m definitely excited to read this new one! A young Amish woman desperate for a fresh start takes a job at Birdie’s inn in Pinecraft, only to be reunited with the handsome man who has only ever had eyes for her… and about to come face-to-face with the secrets she’s been carrying.

HER AMISH SPRINGTIME MIRACLE
(Hope’s Haven #2)
Winnie Griggs
Forever / May 24, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

I love Winnie Griggs, and that cover just makes me smile! (Also, have you noticed how all 3 covers so far have purple? Be still my purple-loving bookish heart!) An orphaned baby, the young Amish baker who discovered her & is eagerly waiting for her adoption application to be approved, and an Englisch paramedic trying to find his late sister’s baby so he can adopt & raise her. Oooo doesn’t that sound like the recipe for a heart-tugging and swoonworthy read?

AMISH CRADLE CONSPIRACY
(Amish Country Justice #13)
Dana R. Lynn
Love Inspired Suspense / May 24, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

Dana R. Lynn’s books are always on my TBR list, no questions asked. And this plot sounds so fascinating – a baby smuggling ring, a pregnant Amish woman & her toddler kidnapped, a police sergeant who becomes the kidnapper’s target when he thinks she can ID him, and her ex-fiancee / FBI Special Agent who swoops in to protect her. Yaaaay!!!

THEIR PRETEND COURTSHIP
(The Amish of New Hope #4)
Carrie Lighte
Love Inspired / May 24, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

I’m a sucker for a pretend dating / pretend marriage story, so I’m definitely excited to read this new book by Carrie Lighte! Check out the blurb to see why – Eliza Keim has no interest in getting married. But with her stepfather pressuring her to court, Eliza begrudgingly agrees to walk out with blueberry farmer Jonas Kanagy. She has no idea his true intention is only to protect his brother from getting his heart broken. Yet making their in-name-only courtship look real is surprisingly easy. Might this practical arrangement end up backfiring in the best possible way? Doesn’t it sound fun??

THE AMISH MATCHMAKER’S CHOICE
(Redemption’s Amish Legacies #6)
Patricia Johns
Love Inspired / May 24, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

This book has so much swoony potential! It’s about a widow who refuses to marry again but agrees to play matchmaker for an school friend… something that just may backfire on them both!

HIS AMISH SWEETHEART
(The Petersheim Brothers #3)
Jennifer Beckstrand
Zebra Books / June 28, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

I. ADORE. This. Series. Jennifer Beckstrand’s sense of humor is right up my alley, and I frequently recommend her books for people needing a good belly laugh. Some of my very fave characters EVER are in Jennifer Beckstrand’s books – Anna & Felty Helmuth, Aunt Bitsy Weaver…. and Alfie & Benji Petersheim. I’ve been DYYYYYYYYYYYYING (and I’m not being melodramatic at. all.) for this third book, and I’m eager to reunite with the Petersheim brothers!

FINDING HER AMISH HOME
Pamela Desmond Wright
Love Inspired / June 28, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

As a ‘cool aunt’ myself, I’m always drawn to stories where an aunt takes center stage, and in this new romance from Pamela Desmond Wright an aunt takes refuge with her nephew in Amish country to protect him. And along the way she befriends an Amish shopkeeper so I’m curious to see how that will play out, romantically 🙂

HER FORBIDDEN AMISH CHILD
(Secret Amish Babies #2)
Leigh Bale
Love Inspired / June 28, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

To be honest, the cover is what really drew me to this story. The little boy, the cat, and of course that purple dress. But the plot also sounds really good – Four years ago, having a child out of wedlock changed everything for Tessa Miller — including her engagement to Amish farmer Caleb Yoder. Now she’s determined to provide a better life for her son…even if it means working for her ex-fiancé. Only spending time with Caleb makes it harder to keep her past a secret. Will revealing the truth lead to forgiveness…and a second chance together?

THE WARMTH OF SUNSHINE
(Amish Blessings #2)
Kelly Irvin
Zondervan / July 5, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

Oooo y’all, this plot sounds so good! An Amish woman who’s never really felt like she fit in meets an Englisch woman who claims to be her birth mother, turning her whole world upside down – including her budding relationship with a man who loves her.

A COWBOY IN AMISH COUNTRY
(Amish Country Haven #2)
Patricia Johns
Harlequin Heartwarming / July 26, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

I love the Harlequin Heartwarming but it’s rare that they have an Amish setting, so I’ve been really excited for this series by Patricia Johns! Bonus that this book features a swoony cowboy who hires a pregnant Amish runaway as a ranch hand – a runaway whose family lives next door.

IN LOVE WITH THE AMISH NANNY
Rebecca Kertz
Love Inspired / July 26, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

Isn’t that cover pretty? And then the blurb grabbed my attention too because it’s ALMOST a marriage of convenience haha. “Still grieving her beloved fiancé’s death, Katie Mast is not interested in finding a new husband—even if the matchmaker believes widower Micah Bontrager and his three children are perfect for her. But Katie’s compassion knows no bounds and she agrees to nanny the little ones. Could this arrangement lead to a life—and love—she thought could never exist again?

THEIR MAKE-BELIEVE MATCH
Jackie Stef
Love Inspired / July 26, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

First of all, doesn’t that yellow umbrella on the cover just pop? Also, a pretend courtship to avoid the interference of eager matchmakers = me fangirl clapping my hands.

BUILDING A FUTURE
(Amish Legacy #2)
Amy Clipston
Zondervan / August 2, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

I always love Amy Clipston’s books, and this one promises to be full of emotion and romance. Michelle is anxious for her boyfriend to propose so she can get married & start a family, but lately Korey’s affections have seemed to inexplicably cool. His brother, Tyler, on the other hand, suddenly realizes HE has feelings for Michelle, but he doesn’t want to risk his relationship with Korey. But when there’s an accident and lives are at stake, true feelings come to the surface.

AN AMISH MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE
(Surprised By Love #4)
Rachel J. Good
Zebra Books / August 23 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

Two main reasons: 1) Rachel J. Good wrote it and 2) marriage of convenience. That’s a winning formula as far as I’m concerned.

AMISH JANE DOE
(Inspirational Cold Case Collection)
Shelley Shepard Gray
Love Inspired Suspense / August 23, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

Shelley. Shepard. Gray. As I said in my look at contemporary new releases for Mid 2022, if she writes it I’ll read it. And this plot, y’all – ahhhh I can’t wait!! “Escaping his Amish community as a teen was about survival, but leaving meant breaking LizBeth Troyer’s heart. Now Detective Jackson Lapp is working a cold case—and the clue to a murdered Amish girl’s identity leads him back to his hometown.”

HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT
Laura Scott
Love Inspired Suspense / August 23, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

I love Laura Scott’s books, and I don’t think she’s written an Amish suspense before (at least not that I remember) so I’m super excited to read this one!

THE AMISH MATCHMAKING DILEMMA
(Amish Country Matches #1)
Patricia Johns
Love Inspired / August 23, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

Amish bachelor Mose Klassen knows what he needs in a wife—someone quiet and traditional, the exact opposite of (his childhood friend) Naomi Peachy.” That snippet from the blurb grabbed my attention & then, knowing that they are drawn together when she begins tutoring him to overcome his stutter, sealed the deal for me.

TRUSTING HER AMISH HEART
Cathy Liggett
Love Inspired / August 23, 2022

Why I’m excited about this book:

The blurb drew me in to this story – “Running from betrayal, Leah Zook finds purpose caring for the older owner of an Amish horse farm. But when he’s injured and his estranged son returns home looking for redemption, Leah’s resolve is tested.” Lots of suppressed sparks ahead which ends up leading to swoony kisses 😀

But wait! There’s more!!!

there’s no way I could have included every Amish release for May-August, so I’ve compiled all the new releases by each separate month in these Amazon lists.

add these to your wish list

What about you? Which Mid 2022 Amish Fiction New Releases are you most anxious to read? What makes you excited about these books?
