Happy Wednesday Thursday! Y’all. This week has been so crazy. I apologize for the delay between posts in this series. But, nonetheless, we’ve arrived at the end of our look at this new season of upcoming releases! We’re finishing up today with Mid 2022 Non-Fiction New Releases (May-August). Fiction is obviously where my heart lies but occasionally some non-fiction titles grab my interest as well!
Here is the schedule of posts for the week so you can zero in on your fave genre!
Wednesday: Contemporary Fiction (non-Amish & non-suspense)
Thursday: Historical Fiction (non-Amish & non-suspense)
Saturday: Mystery/Suspense (non-Amish)
Sunday: Amish Fiction
Tuesday: Speculative/Youth Fiction
TODAY: Non-Fiction
In my continued quest to streamline these posts I’m only selecting the few that most caught my eye to spotlight here. I’ll also include links to ALL the May-August 2022 releases, each in their own list by month, not just the ones I’m featuring here on the blog. You can also keep up with 2022’s new books as I learn about them by bookmarking the ‘2022 Releases‘ page on my blog menu & checking it periodically!

GLAD YOU’RE HERE
Walker Hayes & Craig Allen Cooper
Moody / May 3, 2022
Why I’m excited about this book:
I’m a huge fan of Walker Hayes (“Fancy Like”) and his story of how his friendship with Craig Allen Cooper changed the trajectory of his life & his family makes me tear up every time. This is the beauty of the gospel, y’all. So I cannot wait to read their co-authored book!
THE LAZY GENIUS KITCHEN
Kendra Adachi
WaterBrook / May 3, 2022
Why I’m excited about this book:
Cooking is a necessity but not one I enjoy because I always feel scattered and rather at sea when I’m in the kitchen. I’m eager to see what tips the authors shares, and this snippet from the blurb is exactly why i need this book – “You don’t need magical recipes, fancy gadgets, or daunting lists to follow to the letter; you just need a framework that works whether you’re cooking for one or for twenty. ”
NOT IN IT TO WIN IT
Andy Stanley
Zondervan / May 10, 2022
Why I’m excited about this book:
Andy Stanley’s sermons and books always help me grow in my walk with Jesus. I love the way he captures the simplicity of the gospel – and its complexities – in ways that are easy for even the unchurched to grasp. This topic has been on my heart for the last two years, and I’m really looking forward to hearing his perspective.
LIFE-CHANGING CROSS-CULTURAL FRIENDSHIPS
Gary Chapman & Clarence Shuler
Zondervan / June 7, 2022
Why I’m excited about this book:
My life has been dramatically changed by my cross-cultural friendships, and I am convinced that everybody needs as many cross-cultural friendships as possible. So I’m eager to read these two friends’ story and their thoughts.
RESTORE MY SOUL
Laura L. Smith
Our Daily Bread / July 5, 2022
Why I’m excited about this book:
I LOVED Laura’s book on hymns so I’m beyond excited to read her new book on the power and promise of 30 Psalms. The Psalms have always meant so much to me, and I can’t wait to dive deeper.
MAKE ROOM
Jennifer Ford Berry
Baker Books / July 5, 2022
Why I’m excited about this book:
Oh boy, do I need margin right now. This season of life is particularly full for us, and I often feel that I’m just coasting, juggling the tyranny of the urgent but without purpose or intentionality. The fact this book offers “principles to recognize and eliminate anything that is cluttering up your life” has me sold!
FAR FROM HOME
Mabel Ninan
Iron Stream / July 12, 2022
Why I’m excited about this book:
Big pieces of my heart belong to beloved immigrants I had the privilege of teaching & befriending as an ESOL teacher. So I’m especially intrigued to read this book, which combines Ninan’s personal experiences as an immigrant to America just after marriage and the lives of biblical heroes to discuss what it means to live as a citizen of Heaven on earth.
CHASE THE FUN
Annie F. Downs
Revell / August 1, 2022
Why I’m excited about this book:
Like I said in my discussion of Make Room, I need more margin in my life – and I need to give myself more permission to take time for fun. I’m excited about this book because Downs shows us how to identify what we find fun and how to prioritize it.
But wait! There’s more!!!
there’s no way I could have included every non-fiction release for May-August, so I’ve compiled all the new releases by each separate month in these Amazon lists.
add these to your wish list
What about you? Which Mid 2022 Non-Fiction New Releases are you most anxious to read? What makes you excited about these books?
If you don’t see your book mentioned here OR in my amazon lists, I apologize! It’s impossible to keep up with all the books LOL! Please feel free to leave your release info for Christian / clean non-fiction new releases in the comments.
Thank you for sharing.
