Happy Tuesday! Today’s theme for Top Ten Tuesday is all about comfort reads, those books that you revisit when you need a warm hug and/or an escape from the stress of life. Like any good bookworm, I have several favorite comfort reads but today’s list features the 10 comfort reads I’ve re-read most often. I actually have a few of these practically memorized at this point lol. famously said, “‘Tell me what you read and I’ll tell you who you are’ is true enough, but I’d know you better if you told me what you reread.” So, maybe you’ll know me a bit better at the end of this post, too 🙂

What about you? What are some comfort reads that you’ve re-read most often? Did you learn anything new about me from looking at what I’ve re-read? 🙂
Can you believe I just read (listened to the audiobook) Proper Pursuits last year for the first time. And I enjoyed it so much, it spoiled me for other stories. I want to read it again for the first time..
I am not a person who re-reads books…although there are several that have made me want to be…so maybe I am changing a little bit, LOL.
I have a few – Little House books, Little Women, the Love Comes Softly series, and Janice Thompson’s “Weddings by Bella” series – especially #1, “Fools Rush In” (so funny!!!) And then there’s anything by Laura Frantz. I’ve reread or listened to more than one! Oh! And there’s multiple Grace Livingston Hill books and several books by Kiwi Harlequin author Essie Summers from the 60s snd 70s! LOL – I didn’t grow up going to the library, so my books were well-loved!
Oh, boy. That quote. I guess I’m one big romance novel! I love love. Haha! I’m glad you have so many great books to bring you comfort.
Haha! There are worse things to be lol
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is a great choice!

Carrie, we definitely have similar re-read tastes. I have read Danger in the Shadows and Newlywed Games so many times! My Terri Blackstock re-reads are the Newpointe 911 series. I just reread her If I Run series and I may have to add that to my fave reread list. I also re-read Short Straw Bride by Karen Witemeyer often. With so many good books constantly coming out and being added to my TBR pile, I don’t have too much time for re-reading. But sometimes, I just need to cuddle up with an old book friend.
I almost added Short Straw Bride too!! We are definitely kindred readers 🙂
Some great ones there. Thank you for sharing.
I was surprised to see a Nancy Drew – that must really be a favorite. I don’t re-read books, but my comfort books list looks quite different from yours. I haven’t read the CS Lewis yet, but it’s high on my TBR – I feel like that’s a big oversight. See what you think of my list: https://www.bookshelfjourneys.com/post/ttt-comfort-reads
Okay, I reread Mary Stewart books like My Brother Michael or The Gabriel Hounds or Nine Coaches Waiting. Also Dee Henderson’s O’Malley Series, plus her True Valor is definitely a favorite. I also have reread Susan May Warren’s Marshall family series. 🙂 Altogether more than 10.
