Dulcie: I LOVE summer! The abundance of plants, the heat, the sun, all of it.
Carrie: i wouldn’t mind summer so much if it wasn’t for the heat haha
Dulcie: Definitely dogs.
Carrie: yay!
Dulcie: Can I say both? I drink both daily.
Carrie: ‘both’ is a completely acceptable answer 🙂
Dulcie: My family loves board games! Settlers of Catan is a favorite.
Carrie: yay! We do too – in fact, we are having a game with our nieces & nephews tonight.
Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?
Dulcie: My superpower would be baking. My family raves about my homemade biscuits, cookies, and baked desserts.
Carrie: ooo yum! Would you like to be best friends? 😉
Q: When you walk into a bookstore, where do you head first?
Dulcie: When I walk into a bookstore I immediately head toward the Christian fiction section. No surprise there!
Carrie: me too!
Q: If I asked your characters to describe YOU as an author, what would they say?
Dulcie: I think they would say I’m a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of writer. I usually have LOTS of ideas floating around in my head and I’m scrambling to get them all done at once.
Carrie: haha
Q: Which of your main characters in Not Since You is most like you?
Dulcie: In this book, I would say that Claudia has some similarities to me. I’ve always been considered “chubby” and have always been insecure about it. Claudia struggles some with her own self-image and I can definitely relate!
Carrie: i can definitely relate to that too!
Q: Which character was the most difficult to write?
Dulcie: Prue was a difficult character to write. She stretched me in ways I didn’t know I could be stretched! I absolutely loved coming up with all her crazy sayings, though.
Carrie: ooo she sounds fun!
Q: What do you most want readers to take away from Not Since You?
Dulcie: I think the biggest thing I’d like for readers to take away from this book is that God doesn’t want you to live with the guilt and shame of your past. We’ve all messed up and done things wrong. But we also serve a God who specializes in second chances. For me, that’s what this book was about. It wasn’t just a second chance for Dorian and Claudia’s love, it was another chance for them both to be redeemed back to a fulfilling Christian life.

Dulcie: I’m pleased to announce that there will be more books coming in the Secrets of River Hollow Series! Book two is already finished and there are at least three more I plan to write after that.
