Hi Elizabeth! Welcome back to the blog!

Elizabeth: I love both.

Carrie: very diplomatic answer 🙂

Elizabeth: I don’t care. Ha!

Carrie: I don’t really care either but some people have VERY strong opinions about this haha

Elizabeth: Dr. Pepper

Carrie: that’s my sister-in-law’s drink of choice too

Elizabeth: Mountains by the ocean.

Carrie: yes please!

Q: Who is your favorite book character from childhood?

Elizabeth: Mrs. Piggle-wiggle

Carrie: aww i love Mrs. Piggle-wiggle!

Q: If I asked your characters to describe YOU as an author, what would they say?

Elizabeth: She listens to me and lets me be me without forcing me into doing something I would never do. Do I get us all in trouble? Absolutely, but this author can figure out an escape to save us all from my mistakes.

Carrie: best kind of author 🙂

Q: Did you have the whole plot outlined before you started writing Critical Alliance, or did you let the characters dictate what came next?

Elizabeth: No outlining for me. My characters dictated what came next—I mean, to a point. That said, there is a loose plot running in my head and if my character chooses to go a different direction, then I must adjust that loose plot.

Carrie: i think that makes a suspense novel all the more suspenseful for the reader, too!

Q: Are there any threads that run through the whole Rocky Mountain Courage series that will be wrapped up in this final book?

Elizabeth: Alex is home to decompress, but he also solves a mystery that started in book 1. Readers will learn who vandalized the Rocky Mountain Courage Memorial set up to honor Alex’s father, Terra’s mother, and Erin’s stepfather—those who gave their lives on the mountain to save others.

Carrie: oh good!

Q: What makes this series stand out from the other books you’ve written?

Elizabeth: I think the characters have interesting and unusual careers—not the typical jobs you see in romantic suspense. In book 1, Terra is a US Forest Service special agent; in book 2, Erin is a criminal psychologist and podcaster; and in book 3, Mackenzie is a hacker with a past. I had a lot of fun researching and writing these characters!

Carrie: i have had a lot of fun reading about them 🙂

Q: What do you most want readers to take away from Critical Alliance?

Elizabeth: I love a good second-chance story, and I hope readers will relate to the fresh start offered to Mackenzie and Alex in both their personal lives and in their romance. I hope readers will find encouragement and reassurance in knowing that God directs our lives, and every day is a new day through Him.

Carrie: amen!

Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.

Elizabeth: I’ve turned in Cold Light of Day, book 1 in my Missing in Alaska series releasing in spring 2023 and I’m [now] working on book 2.

Carrie: i love books set in Alaska – can’t wait!

Even though I haven’t read the first 2 books yet .. I still want the 3rd one!
I love how she said that it solves mysteries from the first book and ties up the romances in a good way.
    I haven’t found a series by Elizabeth that I haven’t enjoyed yet….

Romantic Suspense is one of my favorite genres. Cyber security is in the news and the characters in this story are experts in their field.
