Happy Tuesday! Today’s theme for Top Ten Tuesday is ‘books I love that are over 10 years old’ and, as usual, I had a difficult time narrowing it down. I forced myself to stick to ten books or we’d still be here next Tuesday. These (among a few others) are the books I’ve read and re-read so often that I can quote you entire sections, if not the whole book. My copies are well-loved, and I’m pretty stingy about loaning out these books. The comfort reads I reach for when I just want to get lost in a good story.

What about you? Have you read & loved some of these books too? What are some books you love that are over 10 years old?
Love you & this đź’›, Carrie. Cass & Roxie thank you, too!
love you, dear Laura!
I don’t think I’ve read any of these books yet. It’s always fun when that happens in a TTT post! 🙂
My post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-books-i-love-that-were-written-over-ten-years-ago/
Being an English teacher type who only had time for “literature” for my classroom, I was late to the Christian fiction game. The first CF book I fell in love with — absolutely in LOVE with — is the first book in Francine Rivers’s Mark of the Lion series, A VOICE IN THE WIND. Thinking about that book still takes my breath–and it’s been 15 years +/- since I read it. I loved the entire series, but that first one…what a picture of true obedience to God under the most difficult of circumstances. I was also hooked on the first 8 books in the Left Behind series but had to quit reading because I was a new mom and a teacher and had to stop staying up until 2 AM reading! LOL — What a fun blast from the past post today, Carrie!
I haven’t read any of these, but they look good. I enjoyed the Melanie Dickerson books I did read, though, so I’ll keep my eye out for The Merchant’s Daughter.
Here’s my list for today.
I loved the Colonel’s Lady! That was my first Laura Frantz book. <3
Great choices. I’ve read four of them.
Great picks! I also love Roses for Mama.
It’s so fun to see which books everyone chose this week. The Newlywed Games looks like a fun read.
These are all fantastic picks, Carrie! I have read them all and reread Newlywed Games and Danger in the Shadows multiple times! I don’t have a lot of time for rereading anymore (too many wonderful stories in my TBR), but when I do, I seem to always migrate to an oldie but a goodie. I love all of the O’Malley series by Dee Henderson, the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers, Short Straw Bride by Karen Witemeyer, the Newport 911 series by Terri Blackstock, and Heroes of Quantico series by Irene Hannon.
I LOVED The Last Sin Eater! I almost put it on my list but felt I had already mentioned it some what recently, so went with Redeeming Love instead.
Great picks! I wish publishers would have sales on more backlist titles in both print and ebook format. Thank goodness for the public library.
Libraries are great things! Publishers have to make money – and so do authors – so I understand why there aren’t more sales 🙂
I’ve not read any of these, but I’m glad you enjoyed them!
My TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2022/08/16/top-ten-tuesday-381/
Janette Oke, Dee Henderson, Francine Rivers, so many good authors on this list! I haven’t read The Merchant’s Daughter, and since I love a good fairy tale retelling, I may have to pick that one up.
Stop by and see what’s on my list!
