by Bell Renshaw, author of Christmas Together
My father and I have always loved to watch Christmas movies together. In fact, when I started to write the first book in the Winter, Montana Christmas series it was because I wanted to give my dad a book for Christmas – that became One Christmas In Winter.
When I thought of the idea for Christmas Together, the fifth and final book of the series, it was two of our favorite movies that I drew inspiration from. One is titled A Christmas Romance with Oliva Newton John and Gregory Harrison and the second was Christmas Comes to Willow Creek with John Schneider, Tom Wopat, and Kim Delaney.
Both of these movies are so special to me (even though they are from the late 80s and early 90s) and both share that joy of Christmas with wonder and romance. I’m sure, when you read Christmas Together, you’ll be able to pin point the scene that is my nod to A Christmas Romance.
And, to bring you into the book just a little here are each of my characters first lines:
Vonnie:
Vonnie Bradley shot up from her desk chair at the sound of a clattering metal tray followed by a series of short barks.
Simeon:
The sound of the alarm always sent a rush of adrenaline through Simeon Parker.
