by Pamela Desmond Wright, author of The Amish Bachelor’s Bride

Like many writers I use music to inspire. Often, when I am seeking to evoke a certain emotion for my characters, I will put on a playlist that sets the “mood” for a scene. Though I can cycle through everything from pop to country and even classical, the music I turn to most days is off the beaten track to most listeners.

Because I have a fondness for big orchestral works with a chorus, I prefer to listen to what some people call “trailer” music, which is also referred to as “Epic”.

1: Pillars of Earth – Audiomachine

2: Aqua Vitae – Future World Music

3: Arise – ES Posthumus

4: Vivaldi Storm – Tempus Quartet

5: River of Life – Rafael Krux

In truth, there are a lot more in my playlist. However, you’d be reading for days if I named every track I listen to.  However, if you are curious about the genre, most all of the selections I have shared can be found on YouTube Music, Spotify, etc…

Pamela Desmond Wright

Pamela Desmond Wright grew up in a small, dusty Texas town. Like the Amish, Pamela is a fan of the simple life. Her childhood includes memories of the olden days; old-fashioned oil lamps, cooking over an authentic wood-burning stove and making popcorn over a crackling fire at her grandparents’ cabin. The cabin was later donated to The Muleshoe Heritage Center in Muleshoe Texas where it can be viewed by the public.
