ON THE GOLDEN CLIFFS by Christen Krumm with Tricia Goyer
SERIES: Big Sky Amish #2
GENRE: Christian Contemporary Amish Romance
PUBLISHER: Sunrise Publishing
RELEASE DATE: March 21, 2023
PAGES: 326
One wrong post has sent influencer Lyla Taylor’s social media empire crashing to her feet. To save it, she’ll have to escape to rural Montana. Six weeks in a high-end spa won’t hurt…except, she’s not booked into a spa, but at a rustic Amish B&B. Suddenly, her roommates are racoons, and her daily activities include hanging laundry. Thanks, but no thanks. Lyla is ready to hit delete and head back to civilization.
Amishman Reuben Milner has a secret…one that could destroy his world. For now, however, he’s kept his life as a novelist under wraps, focusing on providing for his family after the tragic passing of his father. Renting the dawdi house seems the right move—until the wrong woman moves in. However, she comes with ideas to help improve their B&B, and that, along with her feisty personality, is something Reuben can’t ignore. Even if the elders want him to focus on joining the church and finding a wife.
When going home isn’t an option, Lyla decides to help the Milners spruce up their rental. It does help distract her from her problems online. The more Lyla works on the rental with Reuben, the more she wonders if returning to her former life is worth it. However, is it the simple life that Lyla’s heart longs for—or a particular guarded Amishman with secrets of his own? And when those secrets are discovered, what will it cost them both?
Book two in the delightful and sweet Big Sky Amish Collection.

Hi Christen! Welcome back to the blog!
Christen: I love winter, but mostly because I hate to be sweltering hot, and summertime in Oklahoma is sweltering.
Carrie: I would always rather be bundled up in the cold than sweltering hot!
Christen: Yes. I love them both.
Carrie: haha!
Christen: My favorite is Sequence (played with my mother-in-law), and it’s like a card + board game hybrid 😊
Carrie: ooo we play that one too!
Christen: If you would have asked me this a month ago I would have said hands down print, but I’m trying to use my Kindle more in 2023! While I still very much LOVE holding a book in my hand (and smelling it — Oh, I love the smell of books!) I am starting to really enjoy my Kindle.
Carrie: I was dragged kicking and screaming to a Kindle (an eventual necessity with eArcs) but now I read more on it than I do print copies. I still buy the print copies though, because… #books
Q: Which books are ‘on your nightstand’?
Christen: Natalie Walter’s Blind Trust (on my Kindle), Jaime Jo Wright’s The Vanishing at Castle Moreau
Carrie: Those are near the tippy-top of my TBR pile too! Love their books ♥
Q: If I sneaked a peek in your purse right now (which I would never do, I promise!), what would it tell me about you?
Christen: That my purse must be big enough to carry my book (another reason I’m working on reading on my Kindle more!) other than that I generally just have a notebook, pen, wallet, and my purse Chapstick (IKYK)
Carrie: haha! not to be confused with bedside table Chapstick… or living room Chapstick… or etc.
Q: Which character in On the Golden Cliffs was the most difficult to write?
Christen: I think Reuben was the hardest because at the beginning he was in his head a lot and very quiet. It was difficult to portray that, yet not make him boring.
Carrie: I bet that would be challenging!
Q: Did you have the whole plot outlined before you started writing On the Golden Cliffs, or did you let the characters dictate what came next?
Christen: The entire thing was plotted — which was a new thing for me. One thing that Sunrise Publishing does with their first time draft authors is take them to a brainstorming retreat. It was a lot of work, but so, so amazing!
Carrie: that does sound amazing!
Q: What do you most want readers to take away from On the Golden Cliffs?
Christen: You don’t have to wear a mask for God. He loves you just the way you were created.
Carrie: amen!
Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂
