While searching for the answers to the mystery holding her future hostage, Nicki must also keep Ms. O’Connor’s legacy alive at New Hope Orphanage – whose future is at serious risk.

Hi Liana! Welcome back to the blog!

Liana: Summer – I don’t like the cold!

Carrie: I am the exact opposite haha

Liana: Music, I love reading books, but listening to them not so much

Carrie: agreed!! I want to love audiobooks but I just don’t.

Liana: Over, because it’s the only way, right?

Carrie: so I’ve been told… LOL. Since I started asking this question I’ve found that people are very passionate about how to put toilet paper on the roll haha

Liana: Oceans, something about the water calms my soul

Carrie: it does have that effect, for sure.

Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?

Liana: Organizing. I can organize just about anything – a drawer, a file cabinet, a room, or a project. My brain just enjoys order and structure and for whatever reason I can help others with it.

Carrie: I need you to come help us with our home office haha

Q: When you walk into a bookstore, where do you head first?

Liana: Fiction section (particularly new releases). I’ve always loved stories and it’s where my heart lies most, so perusing all the new story options at a bookstore is always a thrill for me.

Carrie: yes!!!

Q: Writing spaces are as diverse as authors and books. Where is your favorite space to write?

Liana: I’m blessed to have dear friends who own an oceanfront home in the Dominican Republic. Sitting in that breathtaking environment, I do my best writing. Always.

Carrie: i can see why that would be your favorite! I bet that’s so beautiful!

Q: Which of your main characters in Perfectly Matched is most like you?

Liana: The Hopeful Heart Series books (Perfectly Arranged, Perfectly Placed, and Perfectly Matched) all have the same MC, Nicki Mayfield. She is a younger version of myself – organized, perfectionist, with a growing faith

Carrie: i love that!

Q: Which character was the most difficult to write?

Liana: Ben Carrington! I’ve been married to my husband for 30+ years so I forget what it’s like to “date” and I have 2 daughters so I’m not all that good with boys (or male characters for that matter). I had to dig deep and ask my hubby and guy friends if what I wrote would be what a male character would say or do.

Carrie: an important step of research! It’s always nice when a guy sounds like a guy in a novel, instead of not really any different from the female characters. Helps me stay ‘in’ the story.

Q: What do you most want readers to take away from Perfectly Matched?

Liana: That things don’t always happen the way we expect them to. God’s ways are not our ways, and we just have to trust that when He says He will bring something to pass, His word does not return void. Even in the bleakest situations, He can make a way.

Carrie: Amen ♥

Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.

Liana:I have a devotional book, Uncluttered: Shaping Your Heart and Your Home for What Matters Most, coming out in June 2024 (Scrivenings Press). I still have more devotionals to write for that so that’s my most pressing project. I’m also working on a story for a contemporary romance novella collection that is coming out in late 2024 and I hope to start my next full-length novel in the fall (2023) – I’m just not sure what I’m going to write about yet!

This looks like a great story. I have not read any in this series but look forward to checking them out.

Thank you for the interview with Liana George. Although I prefer the mountains over the ocean, I do wish at times she could visit me to help get organized. I will say though since we retired and downsized, less room leaves little room for clutter.

Can’t wait for the opportunity to read PERFECTLY MATCHED, which sounds absolutely amazing and definitely a book I would love to read.

  3. Julie Pripps

As an aunt of two nieces adopted from other countries, the premise sounds interesting!

  4. Roxanne C.

I appreciate the author’s message in this book. The story sounds great, and the cover is so cute!

  5. Maria Proctor

This book sounds like I won’t be able to put it down! I love the title & who can resist that sweet cherub on the cover?!

  6. TJ

Well, first of all, the girl on the cover is absolutely adorable, so how could I not want to read a story that involves her? I’ve had my eye on these books for a while as they sound intriguing to me, but haven’t purchased them yet (tight budget, long list of want-to-read books…I’m also a cluttered person, so maybe I don’t want to feel guilty after reading about a very organized person, ha ha!).

  7. Kendra Muonio

They sound like good books my favorite cover is the one with that adorable little girl I love books with children in them as I have 10 younger siblings and 3 young nieces and 3 nephews all under the age of 3.
