She was so happy to at last be off her feet. Liam had made her the stool as a birthday gift. He told her she didn’t always have to be on the go. She’d used it plenty of times in the months since he gave it to her.

“Melinda, did you hear me?” Sara’s voice interrupted her thoughts.

She blinked and glanced at her friend. “What did you say?”

Sara frowned at her. “We didn’t get to talk much earlier. What’s up with you today? You’ve been distracted all day.”

There was no way she was admitting that she had been thinking about Liam and Tate. She knew Sara would jump to all of the wrong conclusions, especially now that Sara and Kent were an official couple.
