Just in time for the holiday season, a new mystery collection featuring cozy mystery novellas by Lee Hollis, Lynn Cahoon, and Maddie Day!

The church’s annual Christmas bazaar is an unqualified success until the local jeweler cries out that a valuable diamond ring has been stolen. Food writer Hayley Powell joins the search for it but discovers something decidedly more shocking—the dead body of a local knitter with a homemade mitten stuffed in her mouth. With only days to spare before the holiday, Hayley must unravel the mystery of Bar Harbor’s crafty killer before someone else receives a deadly gift.

Magic Springs, Idaho, is decked out in its sparkling best for the season, but Mia Malone is almost too busy to notice. Taking a second job at the Lodge to save Mia’s Morsels doesn’t leave her much time for festivities—until she finds a dead body near one red mitten in the snow outside the Lodge during the holiday party. Learning that an ancient curse is at play, Mia must find the missing mitten and solve the murder before someone she loves is the next victim.

A quiet Christmas in Colinas, California, at her twin sister’s charming B&B is exactly what Cece Barton needs during the holiday hustle of Los Angeles. But the morning after a lovely evening at the local wine bar, Cece learns that the bar’s proprietor, who sells mittens in her spare time, has has been found dead, hit on the head with a bocce ball nestled in one of the mittens she sells as a sideline. With her horrified twin one of the main suspects, can Cece unmask the merry murderer before this becomes a holiday from hell?

tis the season

by Lynn Cahoon, author of Christmas Mittens Murder

Tis the season.

Bells will be ringing soon, lights strung on trees, houses, and street poles, and the annual Christmas movie marathon will start as soon as the turkey hits the table on Thanksgiving. Unless you’re watching the Dallas game. I’ll probably be reading. Shopping started in earnest this weekend. And, if you watch the news, war, politics, government shutdowns, wildfires, and other disasters are just waiting to be discussed on repeat.

The world isn’t a safe place at times.

But that’s why we have Christmas. For us to remember the good in the world. Celebrate joy. Get our holly jolly elf suit on and let the emotions run free.

I know, it’s been a hard year, two years, three years… but for a bit, you’re required (it’s actually a law) to find something to give you joy or at least crack a smile during this time of year. Maybe it’s a Christmas puppy. Or one of those Christmas marketing ads, like the polar bears who drink Coca-Cola. Or singing your favorite carol or Christmas tune like the Beach Boys, Little St. Nick. (I can also sing All Come All Yea Faithful in Latin.)

Whatever it is, small or large, finding joy in the upcoming holiday season is a way of resetting our belief in the world. Resetting our belief in each other. Knowing that all will work out in the end.

Which is why I write cozy mysteries. I like the happy endings. I like that good conquers evil. And I like that when all hope is lost, the criminal is found and life goes back to where it was always supposed to be. (And I like puppies.)

In my novella in the trio of stories in CHRISTMAS MITTENS MURDER, we visit our favorite Magic Springs Kitchen Witch, Mia Malone. When her friend falls under an ancient curse tied to a set of red mittens, Mia and her friends have to figure out how to fight it and save her friend along with Christmas.

Enjoy your holidays and if you want in the giveaway, tell me your favorite Christmas accessory. Is it an ugly sweater? A Christmas vest? Or snowman earrings?
