Ann Elizabeth Fryer author interview

Hi Ann! Welcome to the blog!

Ann: Summer—must stay warm!

Carrie: ooo too warm for me!

Ann: Dogs. Faithful, snuggly, adorable. No claws.

Carrie: yes!!

Ann: Music—lots of instrumental and classical. Especially cello.

Carrie: I’m not usually an instrumental fan but I do love The Piano Guys – that cello is so beautiful.

Ann: Both? Ok. Soup. Soup is my love language. A bowl of hot goodness fills my soul.

Carrie: i totally agree 🙂

Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?

Ann: Unending energy.

Carrie: yes please!

Q: Other than the Bible, what are five of your most cherished books?

Ann: Hard to list only five! Here goes:

Thomas Wingfold, Curate by George MacDonald (anything by him is cherished)
The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte
The Twenty-fourth of June by Grace S. Richmond
Lady of a Thousand Treasures by Sandra Byrd

Carrie: oh i love seeing Sandra Byrd’s book on such a wonderful list!

Q: Writing spaces are as diverse as authors and books. Where is your favorite space to write?

Ann: On the back porch, in the spring! Blue skies, birdsong, iced tea in hand…perfection.

Carrie: sounds delightful!

Q: Did you have the whole plot outlined before you started writing An Opportune Proposal, or did you let the characters dictate what came next?

Ann: Only partly plotted. I am regularly amazed by my character’s propensity to tell me what happens next in the story. Oh, you want to propose to her NOW??? Ok then. Do your thing, handsome hero.

Carrie: haha!

Q: What is something God taught you while you wrote An Opportune Proposal?

Ann: That HE is hope itself. That like the even-ifs of the three in the fiery furnace, God is with us. Nothing prevents that fact. Nothing.

Carrie: amen & amen!

Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.

Ann: Book 4 in the Butterton Brides series! 😊
