When Eliza’s life is threatened, she turns to a handsome veteran for help.

I left everything I’d ever known behind. And that decision may cost me my life.

The moving truck hadn’t even been unpacked when my fresh start went up in flames.

A frightening letter left in my mailbox and signed Always Yours sends me running to the only man in town who can help me.

Driven by his protective nature and a mission he believes comes from God, ex-Army Ranger Lance Knight agrees, despite the fact that I’ve made it no secret I want nothing to do with him–or anyone for that matter.

The longer we’re together, the more I begin to realize that Lance is more than I gave him credit for. Something that troubles me nearly as much as the fact that an unknown man seems to have already claimed me as his.

Trouble is, my admirer has a jealous side, and it’s not long before Lance is pulled into the crosshairs right alongside me…

Get your copy now and be ready to stay up all night!

Pages of Promise is a swoon-worthy, faith-based, suspenseful romance between a jaded woman and the hero determined to protect not just her body…but her heart.

Jessica Ashley interview

Hi! Welcome to the blog!

Jessica: Apples! I could literally eat them all day everyday!

Carrie: yum! me too 🙂

Jessica: Winter! I LOVE the cold! (Although that could be because I live in Texas.)

Carrie: we are a rare breed, i think, but I love the cold too!

Jessica: COFFEE. It fuels me.

Carrie: I wish i liked coffee…

Jessica: Mountains! Give me a lake surrounded by pine trees, deep in the heart of some mountains. My happy place.

Carrie: YES PLEASE!!! mine too.

Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?

Jessica: If re-planning was a superpower that would be mine. I’m a serial re-planner. It’s probably not a good thing, haha!

Carrie: haha love it

Q: If you knew you were only going to be allowed FIVE books for the rest of your life, besides the Bible, which five would make the cut?

Jessica: (THIS IS HARD!) Redeeming Love for SURE, The Boonsboro Inn trilogy by Nora Roberts, and probably That Camden Summer because it was my grandmother’s annual read.

Carrie: i know… it’s really not fair of me to ask such questions lol

Q: If I asked your characters to describe YOU as an author, what would they say?

Jessica: Oh gosh. Probably that she can’t keep up her mind made-up, and spends way too much time deleting and re-writing.

Carrie: LOL

Q: Which of your main characters in Pages of Promise is most like you?

Jessica: Definitely Eliza. She’s guarded, but behind those walls there’s a woman who desperately wants to love and feel loved.

Carrie: i love the journey you take her on in this book!

Q: If Hollywood wanted to produce Pages of Promise as a movie, who would you want to be cast as the lead roles?

Jessica: OOOH! Chris Pratt as Lance and Candice King as Eliza.

Carrie: great choices!

Q: What is one of your favorite quotes from the book & why do you love it?

Jessica: “I’d begun to think of my stalker as a shadow. As someone who could slip in and out of my house completely undetected because I’d made him more than flesh and bone in my head. A monster, haunting me. As it turns out, he is a man.”

I LOVE this one because it’s easy to think of those who hurt us as unbeatable monsters. But the truth is, they are just humans. People driven by sin.

Carrie: so true – and very astute!

Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.

Jessica: Thank you for having me! I am currently working on the second book in the Coastal Hope series–and am SO excited for everyone to read it! I love this little town and these characters!
