Happy Friday & welcome to the First Line Friday link-up! It’s time to grab the book nearest to you and leave a comment with the first line. Today I’m delighted to feature the first line of Final Truth by Roxanne Rustand. I love the covers in this romantic suspense series and I hope to start at the beginning soon! When I went to grab the first line, I had to force myself to stop reading so I could put the post together lol.

Final Truth by Roxanne Rustand

and the first lines of Final Truth are…

When she left Montana at seventeen, Jolie Maxwell knew she would never move back.  It had taken sixteen years, an advertisement, and the death of Wendell Hill to prove her wrong.

Dr. Jolie Maxwell had never planned to move back home.

She knew her sisters wouldn’t welcome her with open arms. But her family needs her. Her brother is in serious trouble with the law, and her dad’s health is failing.

The town needs her, too. It hasn’t had a local doctor in years.
Yet many of the locals aren’t happy about having another Maxwell in their midst.

And now, a hidden enemy will do anything to drive her away.

Coolness from her family, hostility from the townspeople, and a very real threat of danger make Jolie appreciate her new neighbor and his two young children all the more…

Unless he isn’t what he seems.

Start reading today and stay up all night!

This is the sixth novel in the Montana Secrets series. The books can be read in any order.

I need to read this author’s books.
I am reading Love on a Whim by Suzanne Woods Fisher next. The chapter intro and first line:
Breakup: An excuse to eat ice cream no matter the weather. -Unknown
    Sunday morning, June 26
Fingers hovering over the phone, Brynn Haywood hesitated before texting her best friend.

    • Interesting first line. Really draws you in. And the cover makes me want to pick the book up and read the back synopsis. 🙂

      Happy Friday!
I’m just starting Loyally, Luke by Pepper Basham. I already love it.
“Luke was a big fan of solid good sense and few emotional tangles. In fact, he didn’t like any sort of tangles.”
      Have a good weekend! 🙂❤️📚

That was how I remembered our names. Spoken in a single breath, always blended together.

Something was very wrong. Hesitating outside the rear door of her father’s house because it was ajar, Kayla Swartz reread his final text – “Come over as soon as you get into town. Hurry. I need you to take care of your sister.”
