Lethal Danger Blog + Review Tour

Welcome to the Blog + Review Tour for Lethal Danger by Jerusha Agen, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours! I’m delighted to host Jerusha today to share about her heroine’s favorite reads!

Lethal Danger

LETHAL DANGER by Jerusha Agen
SERIES: Guardians Unleashed #4
GENRE: Romantic Suspense (Christian)
RELEASE DATE: April 25, 2024
PAGES: 461

This K-9 team is trained to eliminate threats. This threat could eliminate them.

Being a loner is getting old. Jazz Lamont still can’t fit in at the Phoenix K-9 Agency, and she’s losing her best friend. At least providing security with her K-9 partner at the Tri-City Fair will mean revisiting the only place where she once belonged. But a series of accidents threatens her beloved fair and puts lives at risk.

Thriller author Hawthorne Emerson suspects foul play after the first “accident.” Moonlighting as fair security to investigate the death of his sister’s boyfriend, he’s eager to find the truth. He doesn’t expect the task to lead him to the cult he escaped.

Finding the culprit behind the sabotage is personal for Jazz and Hawthorne. But someone else has a personal stake, too. Someone who wants Jazz dead. When everything she thought was true is dismantled, can Jazz risk trusting others—including God—to survive?

Lethal Danger continues the thrilling story of the elite Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency that began with Hidden Danger (Guardians Unleashed, #1). (Each book can stand alone or be read as series installments.)

Jerusha Agen guest post

My Heroine’s Favorite Reads

by Jerusha Agen, author of Lethal Danger

Lethal Danger gave me my first opportunity to write about a truly bookish character—actually two of them. I had so much fun incorporating bookish elements into the story that I hope my readers will enjoy as much as I did!

Athletic, outdoorsy, knife-throwing, gun-toting, martial arts practitioner Jazz Lamont may not look like the kind of gal one might stereotypically think of as having her nose buried in a book. But during her isolated childhood, Jazz escaped her loneliness and sadness by losing herself in the worlds of fiction.

As she grew into adulthood, her love for fiction never waned. Whether serving in the Army in Afghanistan or working as a security specialist at Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency with her K-9, Flash, Jazz always has a book close at hand.

Her favorite author of all time is Hawthorne Emerson, a bestselling crime thriller novelist and creator of the Carson Steele Series. While Jazz devours every Hawthorne Emerson novel, her favorites are about Carson Steele.

If you asked Jazz why she loves the Carson Steele novels, she’d probably tell you that Emerson is a highly skilled author who brings his characters to life with deep development and growth. He employs a cinematic style that makes reading his books feel like watching a movie. And his mysteries keep her guessing “whodunnit” until the very end. She also enjoys that his settings are rich in detail, making them feel like another character in the stories.

But as Jazz’s author, I can tell you a couple of additional reasons Jazz is so drawn to the Carson Steele series, reasons she isn’t even aware of herself.

Carson Steele is a loner, a former military MP who doesn’t have family or friends. Like Jazz, he’s isolated but makes the best of his life anyway, using his skills and intelligence to help others.

Jazz also finds satisfaction in Carson’s quest for justice, his ability to bring closure to hurting people and consequences to the bad guys for their crimes.

But Carson Steele is the creation of Hawthorne Emerson, and Jazz realizes there’s a clever and imaginative mind behind her favorite series of books.

So Jazz can’t believe it when she suddenly meets her very favorite author. She may have a moment of complete embarrassment and floundering for what to say to a famous author…but I’ll let you read what happens yourself.

What Jazz doesn’t know is that Hawthorne Emerson may be the hero of her life story!

If you enjoy reading stories with thrills, suspense, and mystery half as much as Jazz does, then Lethal Danger awaits as your next bookish adventure!

This romantic suspense sounds even more interesting with Jazz’s favorite author as the main male character of the romance.

Enjoyed reading the author’s guest post. Can’t wait to read this amazing sounding story. I know I won’t be disappointed having read this author before.
