Hi Angela! Welcome to the blog!

Angela: Summer—I have a high heat tolerance but hate being cold.

Carrie: I am the exact opposite haha

Angela: Tea. I enjoy coffee, but tea is life.

Carrie: It seems so cozy, too!

Angela: Coke. Higher carbonation, better flavor (cherry vanilla is my favorite!)

Carrie: I completely agree about Coke winning over Pepsi – and for those reasons

Angela: Soup. So many cozy variations are available!

Carrie: yummy ones too 🙂

Q: Around here I like to say that reading is my superpower. If YOU had a superpower, what would it be?

Angela: Remembering details about people. It’s not foolproof (especially when my medical stuff is flared), but if you happen to mention your favorite color, birthdate, food allergies, etc., there’s a good chance I’ll remember it.

Carrie: oh that’s an amazing superpower to have – what a great way to help people feel valued!

Q: If you knew you were only going to be allowed FIVE books for the rest of your life, besides the Bible, which five would make the cut?

Angela: Oh, that’s hard! I suppose I’d have to go with: Lynn Blackburn’s Malicious Intent, Lynette Eason’s When a Heart Stops, Kathy Tyers’s Firebird, Kim Vogel Sawyer’s My Heart Remembers, and Terri Blackstock’s If I Run.

Carrie: Lynn’s, Lynette’s and Terri’s are three of my fave romantic suspense novels! (I haven’t read the other two on your list)

Q: If I asked your characters to describe YOU as an author, what would they say?

Angela: “She’s so slow—it’s a good thing the bad guys can’t do anything either while we wait, because we’d have been dead a long time ago!”

Carrie: hahahaha i love this answer!

Q: Do you have the whole plot outlined before you start writing, or do you let the characters dictate what comes next?

Angela: I definitely let the characters dictate things. As much as I like the idea of plotting out a book beforehand, my brain doesn’t work that way. Hand me a pen and a set of notecards to write plot points, and my mind will go completely blank!

Carrie: I think I would be the same way

Q: Your series – and Secondary Target – is set in rural Kentucky. Why did you choose this location?

Angela: I’ve lived most of my life in rural Kentucky. I love the area and the small-town feel of places like Falmouth (which inspired Secondary Target’s setting). Additionally, the story required an out-of-the-way place for Corina and her father to have settled when they relocated twelve years ago—a small town in flyover country fit perfectly.

Carrie: I think rural Kentucky is some of the prettiest scenery in the world!

Q: What do you most want readers to take away from Secondary Target?

Angela: That no matter their circumstances, the Christian is never alone. Things around us may be dark and difficult—whether we’re facing the loss of a loved one, our own health struggles, job loss, or any number of other struggles—but there is always hope in Jesus and the promise of eternity with him.

Carrie: yes! Amen ♥

Thank you so much for taking time to talk with me! 🙂 Before we say goodbye for today, tell us what‘s coming up next for you.

Angela: Thank you so much for having me! 😊 Right now, I’m working on book two in THE SECRETS OF KINCAID series. After Secondary Target, Allye (Bryce’s sister and Corina’s best friend) practically demanded a story of her own, and she may be getting more than she can handle! Here’s a teaser for what’s coming:

One quiet autumn evening, Allye Jessup is attacked after witnessing a murder in progress. But when she regains consciousness at the foot of the stairs to her photography studio, there’s no attacker, no body, and no sign of another victim. The evidence says nothing happened, but she knows what she saw . . . right?
