Since Pepper is one of my very favorite people in the world and A Twist of Faith is one of my very favorite books, I thought it would be fun to see what some of PEPPER’s favorite things are! So, you know, I asked her 🙂
I am THRILLED to be able to talk about two of my very favorites – A Twist of Faith and Pepper Basham – all day today! Right now, I want to spotlight the book a little bit, and Pepper has graciously provided an excerpt for your swooning…er… READING pleasure 🙂
Welcome to PEPPER DAY!!!
It’s Pepper D. Basham’s birthday, and we’re celebrating all day here at Reading Is My SuperPower!! I can think of no better way to get the day started than with the COVER REVEAL for her April 2016 contemporary novel A Twist of Faith.
All week here on the blog, I’m talking about the books coming out in the first half of 2016. Monday, I gave you my contemporary “can’t waits”, Tuesday was the historicals’ turn.
Today I am pleased to present my list of the mystery/suspense books I’m most excited about from January to June 2016!
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday theme is the books we are most anticipating in the first half of 2016. I started out the list yesterday with my contemporary “can’t waits”. Today I’m going to look at the historical fiction I’m most looking forward to from January to June.
And I’m warning you right now – there’s way more than ten 🙂
A couple of weeks ago, I brought you a new list each day of the best books I read in 2015. This week will be similar except I will be talking about the books I’m most anticipating for the first half of 2016.
Let’s kick off the week with the contemporary genre!
The suspense will keep you riveted, the romance will leave you grinning, and the characters will have you wanting more time with them. A nice, quick read that certainly doesn’t sacrifice on quality, Her Holiday Protector is perfect for fans of romantic suspense.
The plot of Pieces on Earth revolved around Liv’s anxiety and stress over her husband’s unexpected deployment to Afghanistan as well as other life “yuck” that just all piles on at once. Through the process, Liv and her daughter and even a friend or two learn a truth timely for today’s world – Life is broken. We are broken. Everything is a mess. But God sent Jesus to be our “Fixer”, to rescue us from our mess and repair what is broken.
I so enjoyed Letters from Santa! The characters, the writing, the story itself. All just top-quality fiction. If you are looking for a cozy historical Christmas read for tonight or tomorrow, your search is over!! Letters from Santa will be one of the few novellas on my favorites shelf for years to come.
Two of my very favorite Colleen Coble series are the Lonestar & Hope Beach books. So you can imagine how excited I was to read these two novellas that continue the settings and spotlight some secondary characters from the novels.
While not a Christmas book, A Parcel for Anna Browne is perfect for the season. Dimensional characters and an uplifting plot are wrapped around a cozy romance that will warm your heart. Beneath the entertaining story lies the even more important reminder to be ourselves for ourselves before we ever become anything else for anybody.
Welcome to this Christmas week edition of Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly blog linkup hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Today’s topic is all about the books we wouldn’t mind seeing under our tree.
Since “all the books” would make for a pretty boring post, I’ve narrowed it down somewhat 😉 Anyone still looking for Christmasy gift ideas for yours truly, feel free to take notes.
Regina Jennings is one of my go-to authors when I want to read something that will make me swoon and grin all at the same time. At Love’s Bidding, the second book in her Ozark Mountains series, does exactly that. There’s even a dash of suspense to make mystery fans like me all the happier!
What an incredibly sweet and touching novel!
Have you ever had one of those years where every time you turn around something else punches you in the gut and sucks the air right out of you? One of those weeks? One of those days? If that season of life left you searching for an anchor, this book is a great place to start!
It’s that time of year when everyone is making lists and checking them twice. Some are finding out who has been naughty and who has been nice. Some are making sure those in their circles of gifting know what they want for Christmas.
Here at Reading Is My SuperPower, I’m making lists too! Every day this week will feature the best books I read in 2015 from different genres.
For years Kylie has watched her older sisters get asked to every school dance there is. Yet once she’s old enough to go, the invites are in short supply. While getting overlooked has never felt good, it hasn’t really hurt the way it does this year. Because now there’s someone she really wants to go with: Kole Kingston. Kole is charming and funny. Gorgeous and kind. And everything she wants in a guy. Trouble is, he’s also her very best friend. Can Kylie tear herself free from the friend-zone in time to get asked to the Christmas dance? Or will she – like so many others – find that a romance between them will never be?

I’m talking about A Shenandoah Family Christmas again, this time in conjunction with Singing Librarian Book Tours!
